Out in the yard

I spent part of yesterday out in the yard. I haven’t spent much time there because it’s either been raining or about to rain whenever I go out. Dad coaxed me out since he opened the gate to the front yard. The folks next door have a really nice lawn that I like to roll around in and I haven’t had that luxury because of my back stuff. He missed the moment when I was laying on my back with my feet straight up in the air but he got this one when he was working in his favorite part of the garden…the cactus berm:

Well, it’s more than cactus. There’s penstemon, iris, something called sedum, which he has so many different kinds of but they all have the same name for some reason, even though they all are different.
Then we moved into the backyard, which has a lot of other stuff that interests me. There’s some long grass, mint, and all sorts of plants and flowers and things that Dad works with and it really is nice back there, I guess. I do things in the garden I won’t talk about, though, because some of you will just think it’s gross.
But I DO look for a couple of my favorite things, of course. I heard something in the tree and thought it was a squirrel but I didn’t see anything. They’re pretty quick, you know.

A few minutes later, I was over in my favorite corner rooting around under the bushes while Dad was looking the other way…at least I thought he was looking the other way. He busted me over there looking for………you guessed it:

me?

kitty poops. They just taste so good….and they’re nutritious, too! No kidding! That’s what my vet says! You probably wouldn’t like them, if you’re a human reading this, but I bet your dog does!

OK, so you’re wondering how I am doing, I imagine. I’m doing pretty well. I spend a lot of the day sleeping and just resting because that’s what’s best to heal my back. I do have a little bit of limp because I pulled a muscle in one of my front legs but Dad and Spencer have been massaging it.

Ah, it’s the life of Reilly, isn’t it?

Well, that’s it for now.
See you next time. I’ll be watching for you!
